Fightingtown Creek, right out back, is known for its trout and fly-fishing mostly. A private dock and direct water access is ready for you! 

Why is this cabin unique?

Originally a fishing cabin, built by a local family by-hand. Now, reimagined into a  welcoming cabin retreat, for you. Modern amentities with all the original single-story (no interior stairs) warmth and charm. And, home to the Bear Scavenger Hunt, and other bear-themed interactive activities. 

How close is the cabin to the creek?

Only about 35 feet away in our back yard. The cabin has a private dock, with direct water access. Crack any window when inside to hear the rushing waters. 

Is the cabin pet friendly?

We are dog friendly and welcome up to 3 dogs. All breeds and sizes welcome. No pet fee.

Is the fence enclosed?

All of the fencing is reinforced with welded wire mesh. But of course, be mindful if your pup is a little escape artist. 

What is the check-in and check-out process?

Check-in is at 4 PM, and check-out is at 10 AM. Keyless entry makes it easy!

What personal amenities are provided?

Fresh linens and towels; pillows; quilts; extra blankets; shampoo; conditioner; body wash gel; hand soap; toilet paper; paper towels; dish soap; dishwasher pods; washing machine pods and dryer sheets; sanitary pads; tampons; lip balm; travel toothbrush/toothpaste kit; travel razor/shaving cream kit.

Is Wi-Fi available? 

Absolutely! Stay connected with high-speed internet throughout the cabin.

Do you provide a coffee maker? 

Drip coffee machine and bean grinder.

What's this about a private dog park?

We offer the option to exclusively reserve Blue Ridge Private Dog Park for your entire stay. Just you and your pups. No one else. It's 0.84 acres of fenced wood land. Right across the road from the cabin.

Do I need 4-WD or AWD?

Recommended in snow and ice.

Do you provide wood for the fireplace?
Absolutely! 

What are the roads like to the cabin?

Paved all the way from the highway. No mountain roads.

What is the maximum number of people I can bring?

We can accommodate up to 6 people.  We DO NOT allow anyone that is not accounted for onto the property, even if they do not plan to stay the night. 

Do you allow cats?

Due to severe owner allergy, we do not allow any pets except dogs.

May I check in earlier than 4p?

May I check out later than 10am?

My friends or family may come by, is that okay?

6 people maximum are permitted on the property at any one time (even if not staying overnight).

When is peak season for foliage?

Generally, mid-October to early November, but there are many facts and circumstances that impact the exact height of leaves changing.

Are there any Sniffspot or Rome (private dog parks) nearby?

Yes, Blue Ridge Private Dog Park. Inquire about booking.

How far apart is Sum Fun and The Bear's Creek Retreat?

The cabins are approximately 20 minutes apart.

What kinds of wildlife might we encounter?

Possibly anything that lives in the North Georgia mountains or in a creek. Mainly squirrels and deer, but of course there is other forest-life.
